PRO MILONE 2023

In 2023, the Sui Generis Association is organizing the ninth edition of its Pro Milone Moot Court Competition. You will find here all the information about this event.

This 9th edition of the Pro Milone Moot Court Competition will take place on Fridays May 26th and June 2nd 2023, in person.

A first day, of qualification rounds at the Palais du Travail - Salle Elie Sermet in Narbonne, and a second day for the final phases at the former Palais de Justice of Narbonne (40 bvd Général de Gaulle).

Teams of students from different cities will compete in a real mock trial at the European Court of Human Rights. The fictitious case is inspired by real facts, historical, contemporary and cinematographic references. This case deals with the notions of environmental law, pollution, human rights, international relations and states. Their jousts will take place in front of an expert jury, composed of consultants, lawyers and academics.

On the same occasion we will sign the return of a Pro Milone open to the public, after an edition played in limited configuration due to sanitary obligations.

A video recording of the competition is planned, and you will be able to (re)discover the pleadings in the following days.

At the end of the competition, the following prizes will be awarded :

  • Award for the Best Memoir in Fundamental Freedoms Law

  • Award for the best Pleading in Fundamental Freedoms Law

  • Pierre Gabriel Stefanaggi Award for the Best Pleader.

  • Special Jury Award.
