Pro Milone 2023 - The 9th edition is coming soon!

The Association Sui Generis, under the presidency of Lucie Sidan, organizes this year the 9th edition of its moot court competition, Pro Milone, in Narbonne, on Friday, May 26th and June 2nd 2023.

This year, teams from Narbonne, Perpignan and Toulouse, will try their skills in the art of oratorical jousting. In all, 8 teams of young pleaders will compete in a real simulated trial.

The discipline selected this year is Fundamental Freedoms Law (FFL). The fictional case is inspired by real facts, historical, contemporary and cinematographic references.

This case deals with the notions of environmental law, pollution, right to life, international relations, and States. Their jousts will be done in front of an expert jury, composed of consultants, lawyers and academics.

The competition will end with the traditional awards (best memoir and best pleading per team, special jury prizes at discretion) but also with the Pierre Gabriel Stefanaggi Award, endowed with cash to reward the best pleader of all teams.

The qualifying rounds will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Salle Elie Sermet, at the Palais des Sports des Arts et du Travail in Narbonne, from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm with a lunch break. At the closing of this first day, the teams selected to compete in the finals the following week will be announced.

On Friday, June 2nd, 2023, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, the day will be dedicated to the final phases, at the former Palais de Justice of Narbonne (40 boulevard Général de Gaulle). The morning will be devoted to the semi-finals and the afternoon to the finals, followed by the award ceremony.

Once is not usual, on this last day, the organizers keep the right of the setting up of a surprise joust, out of competition!

The entrance is free.

We hope to see you there!
